    An historical and analytical introduction, considering representative monuments in their context and proposing ways of understanding visual evidence

Student Responsibilities

  • Active class participation, which includes being prepared for each class, asking questions, and taking part in discussion.
  • Read all the assignments before class meets, as indicated on the schedule
  • Attend all class meetings (poor attendance will result in a lower final grade)
  • Takes notes in class and make notes while reading the textbook

Quizzes

  • Three Quizzes: February 23, April 3, and May 1
Take-Home Essays
  • Three Take-Home Essays on topics selected from lists to be posted on February 16 (due February 23), March 27 (due April 3), and April 24 (due May 1)
Grading
  • Each Quiz = 15%
  • Each Essay = 15%
  • Attendance and participation = 10%
